PLEASE KEEP BOB MONTGOMERY CHEVROLET OPEN
IN SOUTHWEST JEFFERSON COUNTY
(PETITION 20100113)
|
|
I live/work/shop in Southwest Louisville and am one of the hundreds of thousands* of Louisville residents who would like to loyally shop at a store in that area.
-
On June 1, 2009 Bob Montgomery Chevrolet received a franchise Termination from General Motors to cease operations effective October 2010. The Company has been serving Southwest Jefferson County for 89 years. In 1921, George Whipple established the first Chevrolet dealership in the Louisville Metro Area. He operated the business until it was purchased by Bob Montgomery in June 1960.
-
The elimination of this Chevrolet franchise would leave the entire Southwest Corridor without a Chevrolet presence. In fact, it would leave half of the Louisville Metro west of I-65 without any Chevrolet representation. Hundreds of thousands of people in this area would be forced to drive a great distance to service, as well purchase a Chevrolet.
-
Bob Montgomery Chevrolet has a long history of supporting local, public, and private schools and churches, as well as multiple little league and softball leagues. In fact, Bob purchased the Championship rings for our 2002 Valley Sports Little Leagues World Champions. Most of his employees live in this area and have been employed a minimum of 15 years.
