- Taylor / New Cut Network[siteorigin_widget class="SiteOrigin_Widget_Button_Widget"][/siteorigin_widget][siteorigin_widget class="SiteOrigin_Widget_Headline_Widget"][/siteorigin_widget] This Corridor Plan is the culmination of a process sponsored by former Louisville Metro Council members Vicki Aubrey Welch, Marianne Butler, Dan Johnson, and David Yates. The overall goal of this project is to develop a plan for the New Cut Road/Taylor Boulevard Corridor extending from the Watterson Expressway south to the Gene Snyder Expressway. The intention is to develop a community-based vision for the corridor that will lead to investment in physical improvements and that will support economic development that maximizes the benefits of the corridor’s assets for the surrounding neighborhoods. The Corridor is the gateway from the Watterson Expressway to adjacent neighborhoods and to significant recreational, arts, and equine activities, including Iroquois Park and Amphitheater, Jefferson Memorial Forest, and Fairdale Village . Benefits of an improved Corridor include: better promotion of area attractions; better opportunities for small businesses; stimulation of the area housing market; and a more attractive and functional “Main Street” for local neighborhoods. Must have vested interest in and commitment to cultivating a thriving South and Southwest Louisville region. Commitment Cohort members attend one program session per week for five consecutive weeks. Each session is typically two and a half hours long. Participants must be able to attend four out of five sessions. Program sessions are held at various locations throughout South and Southwest Louisville. Course Fee The course fee for the Future Dreamers Civic Leadership Academy is $125. This includes program materials and catered dinner served at each session. Scholarships are available. LIBA South Work Group Meeting

The LIBA South Work Group is a collaborative committee of South Louisville business owners, residents, Louisville Forward, elected officials, and area organizations committed to supporting and expanding independent businesses in the South Louisville area.
